Overview of Project: The concept of enclosing concrete batch plants is new but many municipalities now require this for esthetic reasons. Since Milliken is an agricultural area, we went with the Gambrel (Barn) Roof giving the appearance of a barn. LBS along with Bestway, Hall Irwin, and Thorpe Associates came up with an agricultural design to enclose this batch plant in Milliken. Three, 13' diameter silos penetrated the roof along with a 9' conveyor. A dormer was constructed over the conveyor opening to add to the agricultural features.
Key Building Features:
- Building Size is 6,200 square Feet.
- The Gambrel Roof transitioned from an 8:12 slope to a 14: 12 slope requiring all roofing be done from Boom Lifts.
- Supplied and erected Varco Pruden Pre engineered metal building with in house crews.
- The interior featured a batch plant allowing ready mix trucks to be loaded inside the building, a maintenance shop, offices, and a break room.
